The HAY Center, the transition center for youth aging out of foster care, is excited to celebrate our 2024 graduates.
As graduation season approaches, please consider supporting youth aging out of the foster care system. Your help will give these youth the support they need.
When a foster youth graduates high school, it can be a tremendous accomplishment. It is not uncommon for youth to have changed high schools multiple times while in care.
For youth exiting foster care, the next phase of their life is even more challenging as they transition from the foster care system to living on their own.
Former foster youth must navigate college and trade school, find a safe stable place to live, and seek employment within days of their high school graduation.
On June 3rd, the HAY Center will be celebrating our 2024 graduates and their accomplishments as we continue to prepare them for life after foster care.
- Make a monetary donation which will allow The HAY Center to provide support to a youth aging out of foster care. Click here to make a donation.
- Sponsor a graduate by purchasing items on their wish list. (Please reach out to Laura Meares at Laura.Meares@harriscountytx.gov with the number of youth you would like to sponsor.)
By giving, you create opportunity for a youth exiting care. Your support provides a youth transitioning out of foster care with the opportunity to enter into housing, the workforce and post-secondary education.
HAY Center wraparound services include housing, life skills classes, employment and education support, coaching and youth engagement, all of which provide youth with support they have told us they need to navigate adulthood.
